Although the evidence is slim, some people may be allergic to chocolate itself. People with nut allergies should not eat chocolates since the nut oils transfer from mold to mold. Chocolate gifts should also not be sent to anyone who is allergic to chocolate itself or to those who are allergic to any ingredients or potential ingredient traces in a product.
It is possible to be allergic to chocolate, but true chocolate allergies are very rare. It is much more likely someone will be allergic to an ingredient in a chocolate product.
