17th Century Benedictine monk Dom Pérignon is revered as the spiritual father of winemaking in the Champagne region of France. His advances in grape cultivation and winemaking techniques resulted in the finest wine the region had ever seen. Today Dom Pérignon Champagne maintains the same dedication to using on the finest Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes in their wine, which is regarded around the world as a symbol of luxury and prestige. The 2009 vintage is particularly fine, with sweet bright floral notes and the lively minerality that is characteristic of Dom Pérignon. Notes of candied fruit, fresh plants, and hints of spices and liquorice root finish off this compelling and vibrant vintage. Awarded 96 points by Wine Spectator and Wine Advocate.
