Saint-Emilion-Bordeaux, France. The vineyard borders Clos de l’Oratoire, a Grand Cru Classé. It is a small estate of approximately 12 ha located in the historic village of Saint-Emilion. The total production is about 15,000 bottles. The owner is Comtes von Neipperg, who also owns Château Canon-La-Gaffelière and La Mondotte.
Description
This red wine has a cherry-red color with a fleshy and rounded bouquet. The mouthfeel is lively with a subtle hint of oak and a touch of vanilla, followed by a velvety finish. The soft and creamy tannins give this wine charm, elegance, and a feminine touch.

70% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon.

Estate
This vineyard is located on the south-facing terraces of the Najerilla Valley at an altitude of 565 meters above sea level. The soil consists of pebbles and limestone.
Planted in 1997, it is currently the oldest vineyard of the Rioja region.
After destemming, the grapes are aged in new 500-litre French oak barrels where both alcoholic and malolactic fermentation take place. The wine then matures in the same barrels for almost a year.

Tasting Notes
Intense cherry-red colour with violet reflections. Spicy aromas with hints of chocolate and green pepper (typical for this grape variety). Lush on the palate with a pleasant acidity. Silky tannins and a long-lasting finish.
Elio Filippino Barbera d'Alba 'Vigna Veja' Rouge 2023, 75 cl

On the right bank of the Tanaro River, not far from the town of Alba, lies the picturesque village of Neive. It was here that Evaristo Filippino started his new wine estate in the early 1900s. Elio Filippino is now the third generation at the helm. He honours traditional values with the utmost respect for both the environment and the surroundings.
“Vigna Veja” refers to the old vines used for this wine. They were planted in 1954.
The wine ages for 18 months in oak barrels from the Allier region, followed by two months in stainless steel tanks. It is finally bottled and rests for another 6 months before being released.
Description
Deep ruby red colour with purple hues. Intense aromas of fruit combined with wood and vanilla. A robust wine with full flavour, lots of body and a subtle spiciness.
