Domaine Cheveau is a wonderful family story.
André, a forester, and Marcelle settled in Pouilly as sharecroppers in the 1950s. Michel joined his father in the 1970s. He married Jocelyne, daughter of vintners from Saint Amour. The two manage the plot in Pouilly, the heart of the Pouilly-Fuissé appellation. Nicolas created a new wind in 1999, along with his wife Aurélie who joined him in 2002, and developed sales.
All the dedication put into the vineyards, and the aging of the wines over decades, could finally reveal itself under its own name and shine in France and abroad. Julien, Nicolas' brother, joined the team in 2009.
Today, the Domaine thus consists of 3 passionate winegrowers, 15 hectares of Chardonnay (3rd generation), 5.5 hectares of Gamay (6th generation), 120,000 bottles and a recognized know-how.
Location: Plot located in the commune of Leynes, called Le Bouteau.
Terroir: Granite and stone rubble
Aging: 25 months in wooden barrels, without sulfite
